What Makes a Good “About Us” Page?
Another great tactic to increase conversions is to make your “about us” page better, since so many people will check it out to see who you are and what you’re all about. We see this consistently in analytics for many sites.
- They passionately tell you who they are, not just what they do.
- Behind every business there are honest and trustworthy people—show them off.
- Write more fun or interesting copy. Don’t be boring here.
- Don’t pretend to be larger than you are in terms of company size, or trying to seem something or someone you’re not. Show off your real self.
- Some cool stuff you can add to your “about us” page:
- History timelines—perhaps with animation/historic photos like Schwan’s does
- The team’s social media connections
- The company’s Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+ links
- List of top clients
- Show off when you have been featured in the news
- Awards, certifications
- Video interviews with the president and/or team
